Early morning departure from Cusco
We begin our adventure early in the morning with a pickup from your hotel at 5:00 am. A comfortable private transportation journey takes us through the spectacular landscapes of the southern Cusco region.
As we leave the city behind, the scenery gradually changes from Andean valleys to high-altitude landscapes surrounded by mountains, lagoons and traditional rural communities.
Taqrachullo Archaeological Site
Altitude: approximately 4,000–4,100 m / 13,123–13,451 ft
Temperature: 5°C–18°C (41°F–64°F)
Upon arrival, we begin our exploration of Taqrachullo, an impressive archaeological site located in a remote and fascinating part of the Andes.
Our professional guide will explain the history, architecture and cultural importance of this ancient site while you enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and highland landscapes.
Time to explore, photograph and connect with the ancient Andean world.
After the visit, we continue toward our exclusive camping area located close to the archaeological site, allowing you to enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the Andes without long transfers.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is this tour suitable for beginners or people who don’t hike often?
Yes, this adventure is designed for people with a moderate fitness level. The hikes are not extremely difficult, but keep in mind that we will be at high altitudes (up to 4,800 m / 15,748 ft). We recommend spending at least 2 days in Cusco before the tour to acclimatize. Our guide will walk at a comfortable pace and we carry oxygen for emergencies.
2. How cold does it get at night? Will I be warm enough?
Night temperatures can drop to 0°C–8°C (32°F–46°F). We provide high-quality down sleeping bags rated for -10°C, so you will stay warm. We also recommend bringing extra warm layers, a hat and gloves for added comfort. Our tents are designed to protect you from wind and cold.
3. What about bathroom facilities during the tour?
During the day, we will be in remote natural areas where there are no public restrooms. Our guide will find suitable spots along the way for bathroom breaks, always respecting the environment. At the campsite, we set up a private portable toilet for your comfort during the night.
4. Can I charge my phone or camera during the tour?
There is no electricity at the campsite. We recommend bringing a portable power bank to charge your devices. Also, bring extra batteries or memory cards for your camera, as you will want to take many photos.
5. What happens if the weather is bad or it rains?
We monitor the weather forecast before each tour. In case of heavy rain or unsafe conditions, we may adjust the itinerary or reschedule for your safety. However, the weather in the Andes can change quickly, so we recommend bringing a waterproof jacket and being prepared for all conditions. Rain or shine, the landscapes are stunning and the experience is unique.
