The Sacred Valley ATV Tour to Maras and Moray is one of the most popular half-day tours in Cusco. This experience is ideal for enjoying Andean landscapes while acclimatizing to the city.

Driving the ATVs is simple even without previous experience. Before starting the tour, our guide will provide a brief training session to ensure a safe experience. All our ATVs receive constant maintenance and are in excellent condition.

The tour begins with a descent toward the Maras Salt Mines and continues to Moray, two of the most important attractions in the Sacred Valley.

Maras

The Maras Salt Mines have been used since pre-Inca times and are made up of hundreds of salt pools located on the side of a mountain. The traditional extraction process remains in use today and is passed down from generation to generation.

Maras salt stands out for its pink color and for being obtained without chemical products during its extraction.

Moray

Moray is known for its circular agricultural terraces built by the Incas. Each level has a different temperature, which allowed experimentation with different crops and agricultural techniques.

Half Day: Sacred Valley ATV Tour

This great experience begins with pickup from your hotel in Cusco. Then we will travel through the Sacred Valley to Cruz Pata. Here our team will provide you with the ATVs and the necessary equipment. Before starting the tour, you will have a short practice session to become familiar with driving while enjoying the scenic landscapes of the valley.

Our first stop will be Maras, locally known as the Salinas de Maras. Here our guide will provide a detailed explanation of the site. During the visit, you will learn how salt extraction became the main source of income for the local community.

You will also walk alongside the salt pools, allowing you to observe and interact with local farmers.

Then we will continue the tour to Moray. Here you will learn about the importance of agriculture in present-day life. Our guide will also share information and details that only a small group of local residents know.

After the tour, we will return by ATV to Cruz Pata, the meeting point. There our driver will be waiting to take you back to Cusco. The tour ends with transfer and drop-off at Plaza Regocijo.

It was very pleasant experience and Richard, our guide took great effort inmaking this trip a memorable one.  Verified Immervie, cultural and traditional I booked this four day Choquequirao trek after not being able to hike the Inca Trail due to lack of availability. The trip was very well organised, the tour company took care of everything from transport and food to accomodation and entrance tickets. The guide was very nice and spoke good English. The trek included all meals and were all freshly cooked. The camping sites were located overlooking the valley.
