Day 1: Cusco City Tour

We will begin the first day of the Peru Amazon Jungle Tour Package with an exciting City Tour in Cusco. At 1:30 PM we will start the tour to explore the ancient wonders surrounding the city.

Our first stop will be Sacsayhuaman, a magnificent fortress that showcases impressive Inca architecture. Here we will admire its enormous stone walls and learn about its great historical importance.

Next we will visit Q’enqo, where we will explore its intriguing labyrinth passages and ceremonial center. After that we will continue to Puca Pucara, a red fortress that in the past functioned as a military control point and resting place.

The tour will finish at Tambomachay, known for its complex water channels and fountains. Throughout the tour, our local guides will share fascinating information about the history and significance of each of these sites.

Day 2: Sacred Valley of the Incas with Overnight in Aguas Calientes

We will begin the second day of the Peru Amazon Jungle Tour Package with a tour through the Sacred Valley and the tour to Maras and Moray. At 7:00 AM we will depart for Chinchero, a charming village known for its colorful markets and traditional weaving techniques. Here we will explore the local culture while admiring the impressive views of the Andean landscape.

Next we will visit Maras, famous for its ancient salt mines. We will observe the complex salt extraction process that has been used for centuries. Afterward we will continue to Moray, where we will discover the fascinating circular terraces that the Incas used for agricultural experiments.

After visiting Moray, we will travel to Urubamba to enjoy a delicious lunch while contemplating the beautiful scenery of the Sacred Valley.

In the afternoon we will visit Ollantaytambo, an impressive Inca town with important archaeological sites. We will explore its fortress and learn about its historical importance. Finally, we will board the train to Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Machu Picchu. We will enjoy a scenic journey through the Andean landscape until we reach Aguas Calientes, where we will spend the night.

Day 3: Machu Picchu Tour and Return to Cusco

On the third day of our Peru Amazon Jungle Tour Package, we will take a full-day tour to Machu Picchu. We will start early in the morning by taking one of the first buses from Aguas Calientes to the entrance of Machu Picchu.

Our guided tour will take us through the ancient citadel, where we will explore the temples, terraces, and plazas that make this place such an extraordinary site. Our local guide will share the rich history and cultural significance of this emblematic Inca sanctuary.

We will have enough time to walk around Machu Picchu, enjoy the impressive views of the Andes, and take unforgettable photographs. After the tour we will return to Aguas Calientes for a quick lunch and a short rest. In the afternoon we will board the train back to Ollantaytambo, where our private transportation will be waiting to take us back to Cusco.

Day 4: Cusco to Manu National Park

Immerse yourself in a world of nature and adventure as we begin the first day of our Manu Jungle Tours. Our adventure begins early in the morning with pickup from your hotel in Cusco, located at an altitude of 3,399 meters (11,152 ft).

We will begin a journey of approximately three hours through the South Sacred Valley to the folkloric town of Paucartambo, located at 2,750 meters (9,022 ft). Here we will explore part of Peru’s history with a short visit to the ancient pre-Inca funerary towers of Ninamarca.

We will enjoy a traditional breakfast in the heart of Paucartambo, preparing for the exciting day ahead in our Manu Rainforest Tours.

Our journey will continue to the impressive Manu Cloud Forest, located at approximately 2,400 meters (7,874 ft). During this two-hour journey we will pass through landscapes filled with orchids and native plants. We will pause for lunch surrounded by towering trees and the sounds of birds, creating a memorable midday break.

After lunch we will take a short walk through the forest, where we will have the opportunity to observe the Cock-of-the-Rock, the national bird of Peru. At the end of the day, a journey of approximately two hours will take us to Bambu Lodge, located at about 700 meters (2,297 ft) in the lower forest areas.

Day 5: Bambu Lodge – Madre de Dios River – Soga de Oro Lodge

The second day of our Manu Jungle Tour with Trails to Machu Picchu will be just as fascinating as the first. At sunrise you will enjoy a traditional breakfast at Bambu Lodge, located at 700 meters (2,297 ft). The sounds of the jungle and the aroma of fresh coffee create the perfect start to the day.

After breakfast we will begin our journey to Atalaya Port, located just 20 minutes away by vehicle. There we will board a motorized boat heading to Soga de Oro Lodge. The approximately 40-minute trip upstream along the majestic Madre de Dios River is one of the highlights of our Manu Rainforest Tours.

The boat ride is a true adventure that allows you to appreciate the Amazon landscapes. Upon arrival at Soga de Oro Lodge, our team will accompany you to your rooms so you can settle in comfortably.

After lunch we will visit the peaceful Machuwasi Lake, navigating its calm waters on traditional rafts. During the afternoon, especially as sunset approaches, we may observe caimans, similar to crocodiles, as well as various birds typical of the region.

The area is also known for its plantations of medicinal plants. Our guide will explain their uses and properties, offering an interesting opportunity to learn about the natural remedies used by local communities.

In the evening we will return to the lodge to enjoy a delicious dinner. The activities of this day offer a perfect combination of adventure and relaxation in the Amazon rainforest.

Day 6: Parrot Clay Lick

The third day of our Manu Jungle Tour begins with enthusiasm and new adventures. After breakfast at Soga de Oro Lodge, located at 450 meters (1,476 ft), we will begin the day’s activities.

Our first visit will be to the Parrot Clay Lick, which we will reach after a boat ride of approximately 25 minutes. This impressive site allows us to observe different species of parrots and macaws feeding on mineral-rich clay. Our specialized guide will explain this interesting natural phenomenon and the benefits these birds obtain from consuming the clay.

After the visit we will return to Soga de Oro Lodge to enjoy lunch. Later we will take an exploration hike through the Amazon rainforest. During this forest trail walk we may observe various bird species, monkeys, large trees, and a variety of medicinal plants, making this experience ideal for nature and photography lovers.

In the evening we will return to the lodge to enjoy dinner. Afterwards we will take an exciting night walk to observe wildlife that becomes active after dark in the jungle. During this activity we may encounter different species such as toads, frogs, snakes, and spiders, closing an extraordinary day in the Peruvian Amazon.

Day 7: Soga de Oro Lodge – Atalaya Port – Cusco

The fourth day of our Manu Jungle Tour marks the final stage of this unforgettable experience. We will wake up once again to the sounds of the jungle and enjoy a final breakfast at Soga de Oro Lodge, located at 450 meters (1,476 ft). Afterwards we will begin the return journey with a peaceful boat trip to Atalaya Port.

This approximately 40-minute river journey offers one last opportunity to enjoy the impressive landscapes of the Amazon basin. Upon arrival at Atalaya Port, our private transportation will be ready to take us back to Cusco.

The return trip to Cusco, located at 3,399 meters (11,152 ft), will allow us to observe the gradual change in landscape and climate. As we ascend from the lush Amazon to the Andean city, we will have time to remember the experiences of the tour: the wildlife observed, the tranquility of the river, and the dense vegetation of the jungle.

Day 8: Rainbow Mountain Vinicunca Tour

On the eighth and final day of our Peru Amazon Jungle Tour Package, we will take the Rainbow Mountain Vinicunca Tour. We will begin early in the morning, departing from Cusco around 4:00 AM. Our goal is to reach the starting point of the hike with enough time to fully enjoy the trek.

The journey will take us through Andean landscapes until we reach the starting point of the trek, located at an approximate altitude of 4,326 meters (14,189 ft).

Upon arrival we will begin the hike toward the impressive Rainbow Mountain. During the trek we will appreciate snow-capped peaks, intensely colored mountain formations, and local wildlife. The trail presents a moderate difficulty level, but the colorful bands of Vinicunca make every step worthwhile. During the ascent we will take several breaks to acclimatize and take photographs of the spectacular landscape.

Upon reaching the summit, at an altitude of 5,200 meters (17,060 ft), we will enjoy the panoramic views of the Andes and the intense colors of Vinicunca. Our guides will share information about the geological formations and the cultural importance of the area. After enjoying the site we will begin the descent to return to the starting point of the hike.

After the trek we will return by transport to Cusco, arriving in the afternoon. This journey will mark the end of our incredible eight-day adventure, full of experiences and unforgettable memories.
