Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco – Sacred Valley – Aguas Calientes

We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 07:00 AM. Then, in our private transportation, we will travel to explore the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Chinchero

The experience begins with a morning drive to Chinchero, a small village where local people have preserved their weaving traditions. Historically, Chinchero was home to the summer palace of Pachacutec.

The archaeological site features agricultural terraces and aqueducts carefully designed by the Incas. Many of them are still in use today. A white church overlooking the valley also stands out, built by the Spanish conquerors on top of the remains of the Inca Royal Palace.

Maras

We will then continue to the Maras Salt Mines, formed by geometric pools located along the mountainside.

The local people feed these pools with water from nearby springs. As the water naturally evaporates, it leaves behind salt crystals that are manually collected. This tradition has been passed down from generation to generation.

Moray

Our next stop will be Moray. This site features circular agricultural terraces formed by enormous depressions carved into the earth and distributed across different levels.

Each level has a different temperature. There is a difference of up to 15 degrees between the upper and lower terraces.

The Incas experimented here with crop-growing conditions. Moray functioned as an agricultural laboratory for the Inca civilization.

Urubamba

Afterward, we will stop in Urubamba for lunch.

Ollantaytambo

We will continue to Ollantaytambo, a town that showcases Inca urban planning. The town is surrounded by two important Inca archaeological sites. Our professional guide will provide you with a detailed tour of the site.

Aguas Calientes

You will then board the train to the Aguas Calientes station. It will be a scenic journey where you can appreciate the changing landscape, from the snow-capped Andean peaks to the tropical forest.

In Aguas Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu Town, we will accommodate you in a private room with a private bathroom included.
