Day 1: Embarking on the Lares Trail to Machu Picchu

The journey begins early, departing at 6:00 a.m. from Cusco. The group gathers, and excitement fills the air. Our transportation is comfortable and sturdy, ideal for the winding roads ahead.

The initial drive to Calca immerses travelers in picturesque landscapes. Lush valleys, towering mountains, and charming villages dot the route. We arrive in Calca around 7:30 a.m., allowing time for a brief visit.

The local markets of Calca bustle with activity and vibrant colors. Locals engage in lively bargaining, exchanging products and smiles. Visitors may grab a snack or simply enjoy the lively atmosphere.

The journey continues to the Lares Hot Springs, arriving around 10:00 a.m.. Lares welcomes adventurers with its soothing thermal waters. These pools provide a revitalizing soak, a relaxing start to the trek. The group will spend approximately 1.5 hours enjoying the hot springs.

Lunch is served around 12:00 p.m., featuring a selection of Peruvian flavors. Traditional dishes prepared with local ingredients provide energy for the hike. During lunch, a pre-trek briefing takes place.
