Day 1: Full-Day Excursion to Machu Picchu from Cusco

Your full-day tour to Machu Picchu from Cusco begins with an early morning departure. We will pick you up at your hotel at 4:00 a.m. and travel through the tranquil Sacred Valley. At sunrise, you will arrive at the Ollantaytambo train station, just as the first rays of light illuminate the Andean peaks.

Here, you will board the train to Aguas Calientes, the charming gateway to Machu Picchu. The 1.5-hour train ride passes through stunning landscapes, including the Urubamba River valley and majestic mist-covered mountains.

Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, our professional guide will meet you at the train station. From there, we take a bus that winds up to the entrance of Machu Picchu. Your excitement will grow as you catch your first glimpse of the legendary Inca citadel.

With your entrance ticket in hand and accompanied by your guide, you will explore one of the most extraordinary historical sites in the world for about 2 hours and 30 minutes. During the guided tour, you will visit the royal chambers, the Temple of the Sun, and the agricultural terraces. Your guide will share stories about Inca engineering and their deep spiritual connection to this sacred place.

You will have time to admire the views of Machu Picchu Mountain and the surrounding peaks. If you wish, you can hike to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) to enjoy panoramic views of the entire site and valley.

After exploring the beauty and history of Machu Picchu, you will return to Aguas Calientes to relax and enjoy the charm of the town. Time permitting, you can visit the local markets or sample traditional Peruvian dishes.

Later, you will board the train back to Ollantaytambo, with another chance to admire the natural beauty of the Sacred Valley, especially at sunset. From Ollantaytambo, a comfortable vehicle will take you back to Cusco. You will arrive in the afternoon with unforgettable memories of a day full of cultural discoveries and stunning landscapes. Did this four day Salkantay Trek with them as the Inca Trail was sold out. It was very pleasant experience and Richard, our guide took great effort inmaking this trip a memorable one. The camping sites were located in quiet parts of the trek, giving us opportunity to get good rest after a day full of hike. The food were all freshly cooked and authentic. Highly recommend

I booked this four day Choquequirao trek after not being able to hike the Inca Trail due to lack of availability. The trip was very well organised, the tour company took care of everything from transport and food to accomodation and entrance tickets. The guide was very nice and spoke good English. Did this two day trek with Richard, our guide. He was very friendly, informative and passionate to share his knowledge about the local traditions and customs. The trek included all meals and were all freshly cooked. The camping sites were located overlooking the valley.
