Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Puerto Maldonado – Tambopata Wildlife Center

We will be picked up at the airport or bus terminal in Puerto Maldonado by our transport, which will take us directly toward Tambopata. The adventure begins with a scenic drive, leaving the city behind as the landscape gradually changes to the lowlands and dense Amazon rainforest. Upon arrival at the Filadelfia port, we will board a motorized boat to navigate the Tambopata and Malinowski rivers, where we will have our first sightings of the tropical rainforest.

Upon arrival at the lodge we will be welcomed with a tropical drink and have time to rest before lunch. The surroundings will immediately immerse us with the sounds and atmosphere of the jungle. This first contact with the Amazon will mark the beginning of the experience in the days ahead.

In the afternoon we will take an introductory walk with our guide along forest trails. During the walk we may observe wildlife such as monkeys, toucans, woodpeckers, frogs, and insects, as well as a great variety of Amazonian plants.
