Day 1: Cusco – Paucartambo – Bambu Lodge

We will begin our Manu National Park Tour from Cusco early in the morning. Our adventure starts with a hotel pickup in Cusco, located at 3,399 meters above sea level. We will drive through the South Sacred Valley, surrounded by Andean peaks and traditional villages.

Our first stop will be the pre-Inca tombs of Ninamarca. These ancient funeral towers showcase the history of the Lupaca civilization. Then, we will continue to the colonial town of Paucartambo, situated at 2,750 meters above sea level. Here, we will enjoy breakfast and explore its charming streets and colorful traditions.

Afterward, we will drive two hours toward the lush Manu Cloud Forest, at 2,400 meters above sea level. The landscape changes drastically as the misty mountains open up to dense vegetation full of orchids and bromeliads. We will stop for lunch surrounded by nature and birdsong.

In the afternoon, we will hike through the forest to spot the Andean Cock-of-the-rock, Peru’s national bird. The vibrant red plumage and the dance of this species make the experience unforgettable. Day 2: Bambu Lodge – Madre de Dios River – Soga De Oro Lodge

We will start our second day with breakfast surrounded by the vibrant sounds of the Amazon. The morning air will fill us with energy for the day ahead. Afterward, we will drive 20 minutes to Atalaya Port to begin our river adventure.

Aboard a motorized canoe, we will navigate the Madre de Dios River for about 40 minutes. This river journey will reveal breathtaking landscapes filled with lush vegetation and wildlife. We may see capybaras, herons, and macaws along the way.

Upon arriving at Soga de Oro Lodge, we will settle in and enjoy a delicious Amazonian lunch. In the afternoon, we will explore the Machuwasi Lagoon on traditional wooden rafts. This peaceful waterway is home to black caimans, hoatzins, and other fascinating creatures.
